reality never did much for me but I guess it comes free to air and in hi-fidelity 3D a consequence of your senses bending the fences storming the trenches and entering your enormous fortress of boredness and tiredom and smashing fashion by washing the walls clean of dreams and schemes and showing you exactly what the scene really means an obscene being of colours and lights fighting for the right to party rent free in your head instead of obediently conforming to your nice warm norms your blinkered thinking drinking from the carton and skipping class tripping on acid and holding a black mass and cussing in the back of the bus with us the intrusion of confusion dispelling illusion the soothing movie the tissue of lies behind the eyes that keeps your mind blind keeps you from divining the rhyme and the reason and the rhythm of the seasons the ebb and flow you know like a yo-yo the past is past now fast now slow come the waves of the future you used to believe would leave you to be at peace or at least grant you a brief reprieve a little sweet relief from the reef beneath the glossy surface of easy belief reality is free to air the cost of fantasy will be dearer and dearer the nearer the era of fearless heroines and heroes flying in the air and being ware and caring for the poor and the homeless the endangered and rare species and other clichés that you may not wish to think about but without which we would cease to be a society and just become a colossal superslum a mob of mobs with no jobs and no prospect of respect or dignity or even of being remotely free and that’s reality if you and me stand back and let it be if we let it be so join with me brothers and mothers and sisters and fathers and daughters and sons as one and have fun in the sun and the rain to gain a perspective on our pain and joys as young girls and boys to rejoice in our choices for worse or for better forgetting the fretting the hate and the war so the idiots we all work for will be poor and the world will be wealthier and healthier and more beautiful and fruitful than ever before for ever and ever more (amen)
